Starting a Team - Frequently Asked Questions
How many people do you need on a Team?
You need a minimum of 8 People on your Team. This is for all the relay races and the Tug O War. You are welcome to have many more! Your team captain will manage race entries. We ask that teams be no larger than X people participants, but please feel free to bring along your own fan-base, cheering squad, and athletic supporters.
Do I have to have $800.00 before I can start a Team?
No. You don't have to have any donations to start your team. To compete, however, your Team needs to have raised a minimum of $800.00 by September 15, 2012. To generate donations, you can send your personal AFD Donation web page to friends, family, and co-workers so they can donate and support your team. Remember: The more money you raise, the more entries your team gets!
How do I raise more money for my team so we can get more entries in races?
Post information on Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media! You can also email the link to your donation page to your friend, families, and co-workers. Ask them to visit this site to get more information. Remember: No donation is too small.
I don't want to compete...how else can I support Atlanta Field Day?
You can donate to your favorite team! There are several other ways you can help, too. We always need volunteers and corporate sponsors. If you have a skill set that would be helpful with this event, from marketing to crowd management, from set up to event clean-up, we want to hear from you!
How do I find and join someone's Team?
When you visit the Event's Donation page at www.firstgiving.com/atlantafieldday, in the upper right hand corner there is a search feature. There you can search by either Team name or Team member's name. If you know the name of the team you would like to join, click here.
